Controlled Dream Machine animation will be presented at the 9th Annual Backup_festival from 18. – 21. October 2007 in Weimar, Germany.

backup is a media-festival for young filmmakers, artists and designers who define and reflect the boundaries of film and its diverse segments in a creative preoccupation of different ways of production and expression.

The interaction of various media, techniques and narrative structures build the foundation for free formats, which break up established categorizations and at the same time generate hybrid forms of film.

The backup_festival is a meeting point of a young media-scene and platform for contacts to established film, art- und design-makers as well.

Biological Habitat: Breeding Spaces Technology, Made in Space

The “Made in Biosphere & Made in Space” project plans to use DNA as cosmic universal code: strands of DNA embedded in bioreactors are to develop autonomously into new forms of life in the biosphere and in outer space.

In contrast to existing creatures whose DNA is determined by environmental influences and the laws of physics, life in the embryonic state is emancipated from these prescriptions.
